A curated RDR2-inspired camera mod for Crimson Desert that delivers a lower, more grounded third-person view, preserves manual camera distance switching, softens movement zoom, improves horse camera behavior, and slightly widens the near/first-person view.
Description
Proper 3rd person camera for Crimson Desert is a curated camera retune designed to give the game a lower, more grounded, and more cinematic third-person feel inspired by the camera style of Red Dead Redemption 2.
The goal of this mod is not to add a large preset pack or completely redesign every camera mode in the game. Instead, it focuses on one polished setup that improves the default gameplay camera while keeping the game’s built-in camera distance switching intact.
This release aims to make the camera feel better during normal gameplay by lowering the view, softening the stock movement response, improving horse camera behavior, and slightly widening the near / first-person-style view. The result is a steadier and more immersive third-person camera that still feels natural inside Crimson Desert.
Unlike a broader camera overhaul, this is a single curated release built around one clear goal: a proper third-person camera with a strong RDR2-style bias.

Shout outs
Huge thanks and appreciation to the authors of the following community projects:
Crimson Desert Unpacker
https://crimsondesertmods.com/crimson-desert-unpacker-v1-0/
– This tool made it possible to inspect packed archive content, identify the active camera resource, and build a reliable workflow around the current game version.
– It is important to note that Crimson Desert Unpacker is a research and modding tool, while this upload is a ready-to-install gameplay camera preset for players.
CDCamera – Camera Overhaul for Crimson Desert
https://crimsondesertmods.com/updated-to-v1-3-cdcamera-camera-overhaul-for-crimson-desert-v1-0/
– CDCamera provided a very useful reference point for the current build and helped validate which camera behaviors were actually visible in game.
– This mod is not intended to replace the work of CDCamera. That mod is a broader camera overhaul with its own preset philosophy, while this upload is a narrower, hand-tuned single-style release.
All credit for those projects remains with their respective authors.
Technical note
This mod was not created by simply re-uploading another camera preset. Community tools and prior mods were used respectfully as research and reference material, but the final release was independently retuned and rebuilt against the live playercamerapreset.xml data inside 0010\0.paz.
The workflow involved:
– locating the active archive entry from 0.pamt
– applying curated per-preset XML edits
– rebalancing plaintext and compressed sizes so the result still fits the original packed slot
– recompressing and re-encrypting the final payload
– verifying the rebuilt archive before release
So while this mod absolutely stands on the shoulders of useful community work, it is its own curated camera retune and release package.
