Overview
In vanilla Crimson Desert, most equipment ships with only 1–4 sockets, and many armor pieces and tools have even fewer. Extra Sockets patches every equippable item in the game’s item database so that each one has a full 5 sockets available for Abyss Gears.
Abyss Gears are the gems you slot into equipment to gain stat bonuses, passive effects, and active combat abilities. More sockets means more build variety, more room to experiment, and more power at your fingertips.
Features
– Universal coverage — all one-handed weapons, two-handed weapons, armor (helms, cloaks, gloves, boots, chest), and tools are patched
– 5 sockets per item — items with fewer than 5 are bumped up; items already at 5 or above are left untouched
– Vanilla unlock costs — added sockets follow the game’s standard silver cost schedule so progression still feels natural
Installation
– Download the archive and extract the ExtraSockets folder
– Place it in your CD JSON Mod Manager’s mods/ directory
– Open the mod manager, activate Extra Sockets, and click Apply
– Launch the game
To uninstall, deactivate the mod in the manager and reapply — your original game data is restored automatically.
Compatibility

– Patched file: gamedata/iteminfo.pabgb
– May conflict with other mods that modify item data in iteminfo.pabgb. If using multiple item mods, load order matters — check your mod manager for conflicts.
– Compatible with Abyss Gear mods, shop mods, and cosmetic mods that don’t touch item stats.
Known Issues
– Game updates that change iteminfo.pabgb may require a new version of this mod. Check back after patches.
– Items that have no socket structure in the base game (certain quest items, consumables) are not affected. (sometimes)
